Nico the "NicJellie" is a Filipino artist of various mediums and styles, mostly in traditional acrylic and watercolor painting, digital artistry in character arts and animation, Live2d rigging, video editing, and cardboard props-making. He aspires to be an "all-rounder" of several artistic disciplines in both traditional and digital. Welcome to Paradise

On October 8, 2022, Vshojo would post a tweet on Twitter announcing an art contest that will run until November 4, 2022 PDTNico would discover this opportunity and become determined to work from the beginning until the end of the contest. In the first minute of his discovery, he begins the sketch.The time in the Philippines is 9:52 AM, November 5, 2022. The time in the PDT timezone is 6:52 PM, November 4, 2022. Nico stayed up several nights to work until the last minute of the contest until finally, he released his entry

"Paraiso"

"Paraiso" is Nico's magnum opus. This artwork was by far the most intricately detailed among every other; this completes the concept that which the artworks within it aspires to be, in full conception. This piece was the first to feature the "third expansion" where Nico expands his artwork for the third time.This piece would feature his inspiration for all things he dreams to draw; stained glass, arches, columns, floral designs, and a whole cathedral.This piece took a lot of reference from architectural principles such as fan vaults from the ceilings of cathedrals, tracery windows, rose windows, the rear and front of Notre Dame from Paris, and the iconic unfinished beauty of the Segrada Familia from Barcelona. This piece aims to capture the divinity and the darker side of the angelic defiant, Ironmouse before Heavenfall.

"Perish Parish ii"

This piece is a "drawn-over" artwork on top of the "Perish Parish" interior. This would feature much of the exterior designs of cathedrals, the statues on the side were taken from the designs of the Westminster Abbey from London.There boast four statues of Bubi on its side as if it were gargoyle statues.

"Perish Parish"

"Perish Parish" is a piece that expands beyond the centerpiece. This piece features two distinguishable arches on its sides and a noticeably large stained-glass flower on the bottom. This is the piece that aims to capture the interior of the cathedral. This is also where majority of the difficulty and time takes place; Nico, despite knowing he can't risk anything for the contest, still tries to use unfamiliar detailing techniques. This was also by far the stiffest to animate since it features a lot of solid structures.

"Angel of Sundown"

"Angel of Sundown" would be the centerpiece of the entire "Paraiso". This is mainly where Ironmouse is seen in her full glory.

Trivia

Sunset color palette: The immediate thing you'll notice in the entire piece is the colors. These pieces use a very warm sunset palette. There are two reasons for this, one is for competitive differences, and the other is to symbolize the exact opposite of Lucifer being the "morning star" as herald of dawn; this would be a subtle poetic biblical reference.Wings of Ironmouse: Nico loves to alter designs just a little bit sometimes. But this one was particularly motivated. The wings took inspiration from the recently premiered "Gundam, Witch From Mercury" wherein Aerial releases their drones to overpower their duel opponent. This is also inspired by other Gundam wing designs, especially Gundam FreedomEyes and Crowns: Among several pieces made by Nico, crowns and eyes are very prominent and it's still present in here too. Several eye-like elements are scattered around the doodles. crowns were subtly visible on the lashes of the eyeball above Ironmouse. Eyes has been recurring symbolism for "judgement", and the crowns are homage to Jean-Michael Basquiat which is present in many of his paintings. The crowns to Nico personally means "absolute" and "ruling".Cameo Statues: On the piece "Perish Parish ii" there are a total of eight statues. Four of which are Bubi, and four of which are known content creators. From left to right, there stands Connor, Joey, Merryweather, and Garnt. The suit and pose reference was taken from this Reddit postCould not draw any more details: During the final stages of drawing the "Paraiso" piece, after the final touches, the tablet outright refused to register any more brush strokes. Ibispaint was the mobile drawing app where all the pieces were drawn. The app would repeatedly issue a "too many layers" error dialogue without any new brush strokes registering. Nico would finally decide that enough is enough and cannot risk more possible file corruption.

"Seat of Heaven"

A commissioned expaned animation for Iashiaya. Nico would begin a much longer journey of creation after completing the "Paraiso" piece for the contest. This time, Nico wanted to make everything right for the first time, in every technical aspect. Letting his perfectionism take over his principles, Nico took longer than his "Paraiso" piece. Nico would finally achieve technical mastery on the render for the video showcasing this piece as shown in this YouTube video.

"Cathedral in the Sky"

A commissioned animated overlay set for JCangel. Nico would begin to put his hands on finally making an animated set of vtuber overlays that fully embrace his complex doodle styles. A lot of his design, when making this set, was against a lot of graphic design principles. But Nico would hope, that, it would open a new door for this style of design.This set features a lot of design elements that would come from Christian architecture to match the theme of the blue angel vtuber.

"Explorer of the Infinite"

A commissioned "expanded" animation piece for Raelice. This piece, after all the gained experience and skills, Nico would finally apply symbolisms into his artworks. This time, it was relating to the theme requested by the lorecat vtuber; the infinite library known as "The Library of Babel"

This piece was one of the most detailed at the time that features comprehensible objects which were bookshelves and books as it follows the theme. Nico has taken relevant references and studying behind the idea and symbolism of infinity.

Trivia

Hexagons: Hexagon shapes are scattered across these pieces. That's because it pays homage to the Library of Babel that which each rooms are hexagonal in the infinite library labyrinth.Library of Babel: The Library of Babel is a story that provokes the idea of the infinite possibility of the combinations of letters, that, among these pages of infinite combinations of letters, there will be a text you can ever think and write. It's similar to the infinite Monkey Theorem that which an infinite amount of monkey hitting typewriter keys at random will eventually replicate a Hamlet by ShakespeareEverything moves: During Raelice's reprising stream, his chat questions the movement of the pieces. Raelice would point out that every part of the piece indeed moves, even the littlest of books of bookshelves still moves.

"Door of the Damned"

A commissioned animation piece for Hitsugi Kiru. This piece aims to represent a door that which will behold a monstrous vtuber's room behind it. This was drawn in an "expanded" format but is a regular animation; the reason being that this was an animation for a stream stinger transition for their stream.

"Showtimer Nux"

A commissioned animation piece for @Nux_Taku. This piece features elegant doodle elements, more detailed animation, and intense lighting. This piece was featured in a billboard in New York, Timesquare during @covfefechan's "biggest collab ever" that features 26 vtubers and streamers.

A commissioned "expanded" animation piece for @JcShirayuki. This piece features intricate doodle elements, more detailed animation, and an overall divine ambience. So far, this is Nic's most detailed piece.

"Dusk of Gold"

A commissioned "expanded" animation piece for @AsoraRei. This piece features intricate doodle elements with careful flowy linings.

Past intricate doodles, drawn in sketchbook then scanned, finished in digital to perfection.

"The Video Monster"

A commissioned "expanded" animation piece for @nodachie, the video jockey who is responsible in playing videos and visualizers at party events. This piece features intricate doodle elements, glitch elements, complex masking, and several high-energy effects suitable for rave parties.

NicJellie the PropmasterNico has ventured into making props with cardboard. He attended on the 2nd day of the Cosplay Carnival 2022 event held at the SMX convention, Mall of Asia in the Philippines featuring a massive prop that complemented the Gwen cosplayer.

A commissioned "expanded" animation piece for ReiyuGuiGui, a Vtuber known for her adult content. This piece features intricate doodle elements, complex layering, and high attention to details.

PAST CONTEST ENTRIES"Queen of the Stars" , "King of the Stars" , "Post-Nut Clarity" , and "Well-Researched Beauty" are animated contest entries held by the famed vtuber Nux Taku and FeFe. The entries won NicJellie the first place and since been featured as the face of their limited edition merch featured at Nuxtaku.com."Virtual Rebirth" was a contest entry for CodeMiko's fanart contest in celebration for her redebut.
